What EA Sports does:

EA Sports is one of the leading sports entertainment brands in the world with top-selling video game franchises, award-winning interactive technology, and cross-platform digital experiences. We create connected experiences that ignite the emotion of sports through industry-leading video games including FIFA Soccer, Madden NFL football, NHL hockey, UFC mixed-martial arts, and more.

What you'll do on our team:

As a Data Analyst working within the FIFA Analytics team and reporting to an Advanced Analyst, your main focus will be on FIFA's cosmetics and customization areas, working with the live content, development, and brand marketing groups along with a diverse set of colleagues in analytics around the world. We're looking for a thoughtful, curious person with a passion for diving into data to uncover insights and understand how our players are engaging with a multitude of game features. Your analysis will help ensure that the game’s cosmetics and customization offerings, content, and campaigns are optimized so that players of all types can find success and enjoyment in them. You'll not only be a data explorer and modeler, but also a storyteller who drives insights that spur bold decisions for the FIFA game development and marketing teams.

Examples of projects you may work on include: quantifying the engagement and retention impact of customization, helping product/brand managers understand the different segments of players, deep dives into earn-able and store offerings, and more.

How you’ll contribute on our team:

  • Analyze trends in our data to quantify the ways in which new content and campaigns will affect FIFA Ultimate Team, VOLTA FOOTBALL, Pro Clubs, and beyond.
  • Explore player behavior patterns in our data to identify opportunities to improve the player experience.
  • Receive business questions from stakeholders, determine the best ways that our data can help answer them, and provide those insights through dashboards, reports, or presentations.
  • Present analyses and findings to our partners in a clear and understandable way.

What we’re looking for:

  • Pursuing or completed a BA/BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field
  • Excellent SQL querying skills
  • Proficient at analyzing large datasets in a spreadsheet program (e.g. Excel, Sheets) or in a programmatic analysis tool (e.g. Python, R)
  • Work experience in an analytics role using data to help guide decisions
  • Knowledge of statistics (e.g. multivariate regression, clustering, predictive modeling)
  • Experience with data visualization applications (e.g. Tableau, R Shiny, Power BI)
  • Experience in a consumer products-oriented industry (e.g. gaming, entertainment, e-commerce)
  • Experience in machine learning or statistical modeling
